Have you ever started a new approach in your business, only to give up after a few weeks because it didn’t seem to work? Or maybe you tried to do something new, but then you felt discouraged when you didn’t see immediate results? What if I told you that success often requires more time and patience than we usually expect? If you’re tired of starting things and not following through on them, then stick around, because in this episode, we’re going to show you how to turn it around and make things work for you.

Welcome to the Inhale, Exhale, Success Podcast, where we help women entrepreneurs create a life they love, feel confident in their bodies, and build a business without burning out by equipping them with the best tools, strategies, and my proven formula. Every businesswoman must have these tools. My name is Dee Medina. Let’s get started and be successful together.

Hola, hola. Welcome back to a new episode! Today, we’re going to be talking about the importance of giving new strategies and new approaches enough time for them to actually work. If you’ve ever been excited about starting something new, only to feel discouraged when the results don’t show up as quickly as you hoped, know that you’re not alone—I’ve been there too.

A while back, I hired a coach, and I was all in on a new marketing strategy. It seemed like the perfect solution to grow my business, so I dove in headfirst. I was following every step to the letter. But after just a couple of weeks, I didn’t see the results I expected, and my excitement was starting to fade. The doubt started creeping in, and I was wondering, 'Was this really the right strategy? Should I be trying something else?'

We’ve all been there. You start off excited, but when the results don’t come as quickly as you’d like—because we live in this microwave society—then doubt starts to creep in. And before you know it, you’re moving on to the next idea. It happens with my clients as well.

So here’s a question: How long do you give a new approach before deciding whether it’s working? Well, here’s the thing, as I dig deeper—how much time do you actually give this new approach before you start deciding whether it’s working or not? Are you giving yourself and your strategies enough time to actually succeed?

This took me back to when I was losing weight. I was able to lose over 100 pounds and have been able to keep it off for over two years. You can’t expect to see major changes after a week or two in the gym, right? Real progress, whether it’s in your business or your health, takes time. Just like weight loss, you need to stick to your new business strategy for at least 30 to 90 days, and sometimes even longer, to really see the impact.

You might be wondering, 'Why 90 days, Dee?' Well, just like your body needs time to adjust to a new workout routine, your business needs time to adjust to new strategies. During this time, you’re not just testing the waters—you’re building consistency, refining your methods, and learning what works best for you. This process is so important if you want to see meaningful results.

Think about it: if you’re implementing new marketing strategies, it’s unlikely that you’ll see massive success in just a few weeks. It takes time to build traction, connect with your clients, and fine-tune your approach based on what’s working and what isn’t. So if you give up too soon, you might be quitting right before the breakthrough.

Here’s something to reflect on: Are you willing to stick with a new strategy long enough to see its potential? What might happen if you’re committed to giving it time? What are some of the things that can happen if you commit to giving it the time it really needs?

So here are the strategies that worked for me, and here’s what I suggest for you if you want to create a business that brings in multiple four to six-figure months:

First, you have to fully commit. You have to decide upfront that you’re going to give this new adventure, this new approach, your full effort for the next 90 days. You have to stick to the plan, stay consistent, and resist the urge to switch gears at the first sign of a challenge. That’s why you have a coach, that’s why you have a mentor, and that’s why you join a program that has people there to support you.

Now, have you fully committed to the strategies you’re currently using, or are you holding back?

The second thing is: monitor your progress. Sometimes, you feel like you’re doing all this work and have nothing to show for it, but you’re not keeping track of what you’re doing. So, you’re not seeing any of the results you’re creating. When you monitor your progress, it helps you stay motivated, and it provides valuable insight when it’s time to evaluate your efforts—when it’s time to meet with your coach, and when it’s time to take inventory of what’s going on in your business.

Think about it: Are you actively monitoring your progress, or are you just relying on your feelings rather than the facts you need to gauge your success?

Another thing is that you need to be patient. How patient are you with yourself and your business? Are you allowing the necessary time for growth, or are you rushing the process? I understand that it’s normal for things to feel difficult or awkward at first, but change takes time, and it’s okay that it doesn’t come together immediately. We live in a society where you can order something, and it’s at your doorstep in an hour or that same day. But it doesn’t work like that when it comes to your business, your life, or your weight loss goals.

The last thing is to reflect after that trial period. Once you’ve given yourself the full 90 days, you need to take a step back and really assess the results you’ve achieved. Find out what’s working and what needs adjustment. Use the data you receive to make informed decisions moving forward.

When’s the last time you gave yourself a full 30 to 90 days to truly reflect on a strategy’s effectiveness? What insights might you have gained from doing so?

And remember, if you’re feeling stuck or uncertain about whether you’re on the right track, getting a fresh perspective can make all the difference. Use your coaches and mentors.
